Programs
1. Residential Supports
REACH, Inc. has the opportunity and responsibility to provide a variety
residential supports to men and women with mental retardation. REACH, Inc.
establishes specific services for each person assisted by the agency.
Employees of REACH, Inc. work with men and women in their homes, establishing
pathways to independence. Ongoing is the balance of supporting the
progress that results from the opportunity to make choices and take risks while
minimizing resultant perils and ensuring a safe home. People live in
a variety of residential settings within the downtown Plymouth Area. These
homes range from one or two bedroom apartments with intermittent staffing
schedules to four bedroom homes with twenty four-hour staffing.
2. Meaningful Day Service
The "Meaningful Day" Supports offered by REACH, Inc. is also
designed specifically and individually for the people who receive assistance in
this program. Distinctive day services are fashioned in response to
consumer, advocate, and family interviews, assessments, and research.
People are offered help with vocational, academic, cultural, ethnic, religious,
and community endeavors. Each person supported is afforded the opportunity
to work with a team to devise day supports, which are meaningful, integrated,
fulfilling and productive.
3. Recreational Supports
Recreational supports provided REACH, Inc. focus on the utilization of
community based opportunities for amusement, relaxation, entertainment and
education. With the ultimate goal of fostering an increased repertoire as
well as a decrease in dependence in any of these areas. Offered primarily
as an adjunct to Residential and Day services, Recreational Services complete
the picture in terms of whole life development. People with disabilities
in the Plymouth area who are under supported or not supported can also take
advantage of these events. Men and women, who receive supports from REACH,
Inc. meet monthly to outline and plan activities for the upcoming months.
